While recently working on a singles cover project, Jared Putnam of The March Divide decided to revisit a couple of covers, from years past. The first, “Pictures of You” (by The Cure) was originally released on The March Divide’s 2014 EP, Four. Never really happy with the final outcome of the song, Putnam worked with mix engineer Mike Major (At The Drive-In, Coheed and Cambrea), to add keys & remix the The Cure cover. Next on the list of covers to revisit, was a cover of “Love Song” (also by The Cure). Originally recorded in 1999 by Level, Putnam’s band at the time, for a tribute to The Cure EP, released by Ballyhoo Withdraw Records early the next year. This hard to find cover has been remastered, by Mike Majors. “Over a long period of time, I plan to cover all of The Cure’s album Disintegration,” says Putnam. “I thought it was a good opportunity to get these two more in line with what I’m hoping to do.”
