about

"Distractions: Vol. 1" is the first in a series of two-song single releases by The March Divide, the songwriting project of San Antonio-based musican Jared Putnam. In a mere five years, Putnam has amassed an impressive catalog of three full-length albums, five EPs, and numerous cover songs and singles.

During that time, the press has discovered Putnam’s “completely clever” (Performer) songs “all about lyrics and melodies” (Babysue) that are “impressively hooky” (American Songwriter), and filled with “bittersweet beauty” (Impose), and “catchy hooks” (Innocent Words).

As Putnam begins work on his fourth album, he also taking the time with the "Distractions" series to issue tracks that might not fit the feel of the new record, but that still mean enough to him to record and share now, instead of later.

Simply put, Putnam explains, "I don't like to call anything I actually take the time to record a 'B-side.'"

"Distractions: Vol. 1" by The March Divide - featuring the songs "Get In Line" and "Summer's Gone" - arrives March 9th via Slow Start Records.
